Professional and Coaching Path

After a long professional career and an amateur one that still continues, I began my coaching journey, specializing in the role I know best — goalkeeper coaching.

I have gone through all levels, from youth schools and amateur clubs to professional teams and the national team. My drive for improvement and self-development, together with the desire to help goalkeepers, took me one step further — becoming an individual mentor and coaching at the highest level.

The Need for a New Approach

From my own experience and many conversations with goalkeepers, I recognized the need for a new, different way of working, learning, and training.

Goalkeepers often lack high-quality and precise shots from specific situations to practice new movements and refine their reactions according to modern handball demands.

At the same time, not enough attention is given to training aspects such as cognitive training (focus, concentration) and eye training – Visual Gym.

Additionally, there is a clear lack of an individualized approach tailored to biometric characteristics, age, abilities, and the needs of each goalkeeper.

An Idea for a System Applicable to Everyone

I asked myself how to combine all these elements into a single training system that would be:

  • applicable and useful to everyone,
  • effective and measurable,
  • accessible to coaches and goalkeepers,
  • simple to use and to integrate into existing workflows.

On the other hand, the system must make coaching easier, speed up learning, and provide measurable results without unnecessary complexity.

The Role of Technology in Sports

I found the solution in technology, increasingly present in professional sports, especially in the United States.

The challenge I set for myself was not simple, nor did the solution appear overnight.

Through analytical thinking and a rational, future-oriented approach, the idea of creating a VR simulator for handball goalkeeper training was born. What seemed simple brought many questions: where, how, who, hardware, software, funding sources.

The Creation of the VR Simulator

After many discussions, research, and searching for solutions, a team was formed:

  • Great team from Native Code
  • and myself — with faith in the project and trust in my team.

Two years of dedicated work were required to create the VR simulator for handball goalkeeper training — the result of vision, persistence, and collaboration.

Results and Impressions

The simulator has been tested by a large number of users, and the feedback has been extremely positive.

Everyone is impressed with its capabilities and the potential it brings to the future of goalkeeper training.
